Founder & Managing Director, Ledger Mark

Rick is a reformed lawyer who has been a serial entrepreneur for 31 years. His primary goal throughout his career has been to deliver above average growth by developing high performing teams that create competitive advantages in their market.

During his career as both a CFO and CEO of public and private companies, Rick has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, public and private corporate finance, financial management, marketing, sales and operations of health care, technology, manufacturing and retail businesses.  Included in his entrepreneurial finance experience are two IPO’s, an MBO, numerous corporate M&A transactions, in addition to numerous private equity transactions.

Rick is currently the founder and managing director of LedgerMark, LLC, a firm that provides back office services (accounting, bookkeeping, payroll and HR services) to small growing firms.  Through LedgerMark, he serves as the CFO of Fiberight Global Holdings, a developer of innovative waste processing facilities that maximizes the reusability of municipal waste, PathSensors, Inc., a provider of revolutionary pathogen detection equipment and services RoadStallion, Inc., a provider of upscale vehicles to limousine operators, and Cadalys, LLC, an application software company extending Salesforce cloud services for healthcare, corporate and government institutions.

He is a partner in Ainsley & Co., Inc., a digital marketing company and was its Chief Growth Officer from April 2017 to July 2018.  He was the CFO of Bambeco, Inc., the leading brand of sustainable home goods, from April 2014 to March 2017. From Jan 2011 to March 2014, Rick was the CEO of UGT Manufacturing, a contract manufacturer of urethane grout.  From July 2006 through December 2010, Rick was the Chairman and CEO of StarQuartz Industries, a developer and manufacturer of innovative urethane grout technology. StarQuartz was acquired by Bostik, Inc., a subsidiary of French energy company Total in January 2011.

In April 2004, Rick co-founded The Cornerstone Professional Group, a business and technology services firm, where he served as CEO until June, 2006.  He continued to serve as Chairman of Cornerstone until April, 2017.  Rick was the CEO of Impact Labs, a developer of compression and document management software from January 2003 to March 2004.

Rick was also the CEO of Sequoia Software from July 1996 through April 2001.  Sequoia was a developer of enterprise XML-based portal software.  Rick led the company through an IPO in June 2000 and guided it in a sale to Citrix Systems in May 2001.  Rick then served as the Vice President of Global Product Marketing for Citrix until December 2002.

Prior to Sequoia, Rick was the CFO of Mergent Technology and one of its predecessors, Performance Learning Group, which was an MBO of an education software division of Loral Corporation, from July 1994 to June 1996.  Rick was a co-founder and CFO of PersonaCare, a nursing and rehabilitation health care provider with operations in 9 states, from October 1984 to June 1994.  PersonaCare was acquired by TheraTx in March 1994 and Rick was a member of the management team that led Theratx’s IPO in June 1994.

Prior to PersonaCare, Rick was an attorney at Gebhardt & Smith, a boutique commercial banking law firm where he developed a specialty in cable TV and telecommunications transactions, from July 1976 to September 1984.
